Embracing Mind Over Matter

Throughout life, we’re going to continuously face low-points, challenges, and difficulties.

Some will have a clear purpose and some will seem grossly unfair and undeserved. But however they show up, you have at your disposal the greatest tool the universe could have gifted you: your mind.

It’s using the mind properly that helped Holocaust survivors, like Viktor Emil Frankl, find meaning and survive the concentration camps of World War II. It’s the mind that helped titans like Sylvester Stalone, Oprah Winfrey, and J.K. Rowling become who they are today. And it’s the mind that will help you take on whatever comes your way and achieve your own greatness if you use it properly.

When you start to feel overwhelmed with whatever you’re dealing with, remember these quotes and keep thriving:

“The mind is everything. What you think you become.”
– Buddha

“Whatever your mind can conceive and believe it can achieve.”
– Napoleon Hill

“Just remember, you can do anything you set your mind to,
but it takes action, perseverance, and facing your fears.”
– Gillian Anderson

“In my opinion, there is no aspect of reality beyond the reach of the human mind.”
– Stephen Hawking

“Stop letting people who do so little for you control so much of your mind, feelings, and emotions.
– Will Smith.

“Defeat is a state of mind. No one is ever defeated until defeat has been accepted as a reality.
– Bruce Lee

“Whatever we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become a reality.
– Earl Nightingale

“When your mind is telling you you’re done, you’re really only 40 percent done.”
– David Goggins

“Change your thoughts and you change your world.”
– Norman Vincent Peale

“The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something. You can do it, as long as you really believe 100 percent.”
– Arnold Schwarzenegger

Are you embracing ‘mind over matter’ to live your truth?

If you’re still breathing and still encountering challenges, then there’s room to grow and continue to blossom. My hope for you is that you’ll rise to the occasion and continuously push the boundaries of what’s possible for you. If you need a bonus quote, always remember the words of Henry Ford: Whether you think you can, or think you can’t – either way you’re right.

Wishing you a week full of mind over matter!

Much love,
Mark

PS – My most recent guest on Are You Being Real?, Chris Sams, willingly made the decision to go full on Forrest Gump and run end-to-end across America. And even though he had a clear purpose for doing so, it was still difficult for him to get up each morning and run 20+ miles so he could reach the finish line on his goal date.  To hear how he embodied ‘mind over matter’ on his journey, helped others along the way, and practical tips he uses to live a healthy and fully expressive life, check out our interview on Episode 219!
