Five Must Reads for an Amazing Life

I used to never read books, so the accomplishment of even finishing one before the age of 30 was a big feat for me. Today, I’m a full-on bibliophile, read 2-3 books per month, and am a self-proclaimed self-help junkie.

When you enter into my podcast studio, you’ll see shelves dedicated to the books that have made the most impact on my life across many different subjects. You’re just as likely to find a book about how opening up in the workplace can build a stronger community as you are a book on tantra. No subject is taboo or unworthy of my attention if it provides value and can enrich my life in some way.

This week on the Are You Being Real Podcast, I wanted to share with you five incredibly important books that have been invaluable for me. I picked these books because they are universally relevant, can be understood by just about anyone, and are rich with wisdom and takeaways. If you’re interested in hearing my favorite lessons from each, I give all 5 books a brief overview in Episode 179 – give it a listen.

…….

Here’s the list (in no particular order):

The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz:
A book on personal values and rules to live by.

The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron:
A book on creativity and getting past your mental blocks and resistances.

The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle:
A book on being present and how to deal with anxiety and depression.

The ONE Thing by Gary Keller:
My personal favorite book on productivity, effectiveness, and focus.

How To Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie:
My favorite book on interpersonal skills and how to practice them.

…..

These are the kind of books that you can read over and over again and always learn something new – or get a meaningful reminder. Check them out and enjoy!

Much Love,

Mark
